Supported research of a consulting firm and think tank of a Japanese multinational conglomerate

Active Living International provided an industry and market overview of all components of Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) operations for the purpose of improving the CCRC market in Japan. The objective was to also understand the business model and this was accomplished to the satisfaction of Mitsubishi and partner companies that were part of the Platinum Social Research Center.

Active Living International advised in all aspects of this research effort for the purposes of business planning, site planning and site location selection purposes. Mitsubishi’s focus was to better understand the senior living and senior care space and how this impacted the CCRC models of operation. This effort also involved a leading Japanese labor pool provider for healthcare and seniors care delivered in CCRC communities and at home through home healthcare services.

The deliverables for this engagement were:

Arranged visits and interviews with four leading American CCRC developers and operators with the purpose of obtaining cooperation and assistance for Japanese companies.

Visits with three assisted living and one specialist dementia care operator with the same objective.

Conducted summary and recap meetings to answer questions and add further insights to the space for Mitsubishi.

Active Living International was also asked to engage with the Mitsubishi team for future research including an upcoming international roundtable discussion on the subject matter.

“Active Living International has been of great value helping our Japanese companies understand CCRC business model.”
